The Life of CLARA L LILLY
Clara Lilly, 89, of 777 NW 66th Ave. died of respiratory and heart ailments Tuesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Near Highland memory Gardens Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Lilly was born in Prairie City. She lived in Altoona 12 years and in Des Moines most of her life, moving to Granger Manor Care Center five months ago. She retired from Farm Bureau and was a member of Altoona Christian Church and Altoona Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son, Carl Behanish of Des Moines; three brothers, John Ver Steeg of Des Moines, Edwin Ver Steeg of Fort Dodge and Robert Ver Steeg of Richland, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends after noon Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made tot he American Lung Association.
