The Life of ARLYN G OWENS
Arlyn G. Owens, 90, of Mill Pond Health Care Center in Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Friday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Nerar Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Owens was born in Dallas, IA, and had lived in Des Moines for 58 years before moving to Ankeny five years ago. He was retired from the maintenance division at Armstrong Tire Co. He was a member of Highland Park Christian Church and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed music, playing cards, and ice and roller skating.
He is survived by his wife,Dorthea; a daughter, Michalea Starke of Seattle; a son, Van C. of Ankeny; a sister, Marian Adams; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
