The Life of ANNIE H SHAFER
Annie H. Shafer, 83, of the 500 block of Northeast 43rd Street died of pneumonia Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Shafer was born in Sanderson, TX and had lived in El Paso, TX, and Portland, OR, before moving to Des Moines in 1961. She was the retired owner of Annie''s Boutique and Stylist Beauty Salon and a charter member of Grandview Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Dove of Dexter and Robert Dove of Portland; two daughters, Nancy Dove and Sharon Coffin; two stepdaughters, Alice Hollingworth and Ruth Bartelt; and two stepsons, David Shafer and Paul Shafer, Jr., all of Des Moines; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
