The Life of LYDIA E CARPENTER

Lydia E. Carpenter, 82, of 4812 Cedar Drive, West Des Moines, died of a heart attack Thursday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John''''s Lutheran Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
 
 Mrs. Carpenter was born in Boone and moved to Des Moines in 1924. She had been a homemaker and a registered nurse. She was past president of Order of Bossients, was a member of Order of Eastern Star and Married Nurses Club.

Surviving are a son, Harold of Des Moines; a daughter, Betty Lue Carpenter of West Des Moines; three brothers, Nick Schroeder of Ogden; Cleo Schroeder of Pilot Mound and Virgil Schroeder of Armstrong; three sisters, Ruth Anderson of Omaha; Ida Schlutz of Muscatine; and Jean Carlson of Boone; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren .
