The Life of HAROLD EMERSON CARPENTER

Services for Harold E. Carpenter, 80, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, who died of a heart attach Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John''s Lutheran Church.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Malcom, Mr. Carpenter was a former resident of Indianola.  He owned Superior 400 Oil Co. and was a member of St. John''s Lutheran Church, the Pioneer Masonic Lodge and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Lydia; a son, Harold "Bud" of West Des Moines; a daughter, Betty Leu Carpenter of West Des Moines; two brothers, D.W. of Maxwell and Waldro of Denver, CO; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson of Des Moines and Lucille Gilbert of Henderson, NV; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John''s Lutheran Church or the Shriners Crippled Children''s and Burns hospitals.

Friends may call after noon today at Westover Funeral Home.
