The Life of KENNETH ROBERT ANDREWS

Kenneth R. Andrews, 69, of the 300 block of Northwest 52nd Ave. died of cancer Wednesday at his son''s home in Ida Grove.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Andrews was born in Altamont, SD and had lived in Des Moines most off his life.  He was a retired maintenance worker with Firestone Tire and Rubber co., a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and AmVets.  He was an honorary member of Saylor Township Fire Department.  He was a hard-working man who enjoyed fishing, auctions and spending time with his friends at AmVets.

He is survived by two sons, Michael of Ida Grove and Patrick of Des Moines; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue.

His companion was Bonnie Patrick of Des Moines.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Horn Hospice at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove.
