The Life of JACK OLIVER HANSON

Jack Oliver Hanson, 68, died Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Mercy Hospice.  Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Jack graduated from the University of Minnesota in Duluth, MN.  He began his career at IBM, and later worked as an independent management consultant, having worked on every continent except Antarctica.  He retired in 2000.  He served in Japan during the Korean War. He was raised in Northern Minnesota, lived in West Des Moines, Illinois and Michigan before returning to Des Moines in 1973.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Hanson of Des Moines; daughter, Carrie Hanson of Chicago,IL; son, Todd Hanson of Des Moines; grandson, Collin; stepson, Brad Harlan of Houston, TX; stepdaughter, Delinda Taylor of Altoona; brother, Jerry Hanson of Fruitport, MI; sister, Sally Schwartz of Bovey, MN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Douglas Hanson and brother, Gene Hanson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.  Memorial gifts may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
