The Life of CALVIN DUANE KANIS
Calvin D. Kanis, 53, of 4112 29th St., died of a heart attack Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Kanis was born in Baldwin, WI, and had lived in Des Moines for 25 years. He retired in 1984 from Mayflower Moving. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Teamsters Local 147.
Survivors include his wife, Dorinne; two sons, Bryan of Altoona and Randy of West Des Moines; two daughters, Renee Lancaster and DeAnn Kanis, both of Norwalk; his parents, George and Celia Kanis of Baldwin, WI; four brothers; two sisters; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.
