The Life of WILLIAM ROBERT AHLHELM

William "Billy" Robert Ahlhelm, 32, of the 2500 block of Wellbeck Road, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday in Melbourne.  The death has been ruled a suicide.  Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brooks Funeral Care, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Ahlhelm was born in Covina, CA, and had lived in Marshalltown before moving to Des Moines, where he had lived most of his life.  He was a service technician with Nagle Sign.

Survivors include a son, Dory of Urbandale; two daughters, Casey Ahlhelm of Melbourne and Lynsy Gruening of Urbandale; his parents, Robert and Melba Ahlhelm of Des Moines; four sisters, Sheryln Moore of Dana Point, CA, Denise Mangin of Clinton and Dianna Ahlhelm and Barbara Ahlhelm both of Des Moines; and a brother Joel Reeves of Des Moines.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
