The Life of ALFRED DAVID ROWLAND

Services for Alfred David Rowland, 77, of 1065 Eighth St., who died of uremic poisoning and a heart ailment Thursday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hamilton's-Lilly Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. 

Before his retirement last year, Mr. Rowland was a member of the custodial staff at Iowa Lutheran Hospital more than 18 years.  He previously worked for the Santa Fe and Great Western Railroads

Born in Gower, MO, he came to Des Moines from St. Joseph, MO 40 years ago.

Surviving are his widow, Lillian; two sons, Marvin and Paul of Kansas City, MO, a stepson, Alfred Gallaway of Albany, GA, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Des Moines and Mrs. Helen Fullerton of Kansas City, and an adopted son, Larry Gene Rowland of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Soule of St. Joseph, and Mrs. Emma Miller of Kansas City; a brother, Tom of Plattsburg, MO; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
