The Life of JOHN GARTNER KNORR

John G. Knorr, 71, of 1649 NW 80th St., Clive, died of cancer Monday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Westover Funeral Home, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Knorr was born in Des Moines and lived in San Diego several years before returning.  He retired after 43 years with Radio Trade Supply Co., where he had been an electronics salesman.  A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Windsor United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Clive Volunteer Ambulance and Fire squad.

Among survivors are his wife, Leona; two sons, Thomas of Phoenix, AZ and Michael of Grimes; two daughters, Beth Knorr and Allison Knorr, both of Des Moines; a brother Carl of minneapolis; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or his church.
