The Life of BARBARA JEAN OKEEFE
Barbara Jean O''Keefe, 76, of Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny died of Parkinson''s disease there Thursday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. O''Keefe was born in Des Moines and had lived here many years before moving to Ankeny seven years ago. She also had lived in Seattle for 14 years. She was a retired secretary with Iowa Title Co. and had been an administrtive secretary with the Iowa State Education Association. She was a member of Community of Christ Church and enjoyed gardening and playing the piano and cello.
She is survived by a daughter, Renee O''Connell of Seattle; three brothers, Bill Pratt and Larry Pratt, both of Des Moines, and Jerry Pratt of Independence, MO; two sisters, Harriette Horner of Boise, ID, and Nancy Breazile of Minneapolis; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunyview Care Center or the Parkinson''s Foundation.
