The Life of RUDY F SIMON
Rudy F Simon of Des Moines passed away from cancer Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at the In Trust Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, November 27 at Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Rudy grew up in south Des Moines and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944. He was a WWII veteran and retired from the federal government.
Rudy was a member of the Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, Naval Armed Guard of Iowa, former member of the Isaac Walton League and 50-year emmber of the Auburn Masonic Lodge. He loved sports, was an avid Cubs fan and spent many years involved with the South Des Moines Little League.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Katie; son, Tom (Pat) Simon; grandson, Eric (Sonya) Simon; great-granddaughter, Jalyn; and brother, Fred (Shirley) Simon.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 pm Firday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the In Trust Hospice Taylor House.
