The Life of EARL E EAST

Services for Earl East, 71, of 3423 Fifty-fourth Street, who died of a heart attack Monday at Veterans Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Westover Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Before his retirement, Mr. East worked for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. 42 years. He was born at Burchard, Neb., and came here from Corydon 30 years ago. He was a member of Glen Echo Christian Church and Pioneer Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his widow Mae; a son, Robert V. of Miami, Fla., and Donald W. of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy J. Tarr of Des Moines; two brothers, J.J. East of Lincoln, Neb., and Harry of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Allwine of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Mabel Cox of Centerview, Mo., and 12 grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Heart Fund.
