The Life of JOHN WILLIAM PARR

John W. Parr, 78,m of 4153 E 30th St. died of an aneurysm Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Parr was born in Ottumwa and lived in Des Moines most of his life, retiring after 17 years with Lenox Industries. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Capitol Hill Christian Church and Highland Park Veterans of Foreign Wars post. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; a son, Ronnie Baughman, and a brother, Bill, both of Sacramento, California; five sisters, Harriet Spears of Kansas City, Missouri; Mary Wright of Montezuma, Gertrude Sloan of Des Moines and Estelle Wilson and Anna Parr, both of Texas; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
