The Life of MILTON L SWANSON
Milton Swanson, 93, of the 2300 block of Farwell Road died of a heart ailment Monday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Evangelical Covenant Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The Rev. Swanson was born in Kiron and had been a minister in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Kansas, Colorado, Massachusetts and Michigan before moving to Iowa. After retiring, he was chaplain at Valley View Village for 15 years. He had kept a daily diary since the age of 12.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Fern Weiss of Chicago; and a son, Wayne of Atlanta.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant World Relief in care of his church.
