The Life of CHARLES ROBERT TAYLOR

Charles R. "Bob" Taylor, 86, of the 400 block of Souteast Delaware in Ankeny died of a heart attack Monday at home.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was born in Warren County and had lived in Des Moines most of his life before moving to Ankeny.  He was a retired finish carpenter, an Army veteran and a member of Grandview Park Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Karleen Taylor-Pratt of Urbandale and Brenda Taylor of Des Moines; two sons, Chuck of Colorado Springs, CO, and Phillip of Davenport; a brother, Dale of Indianola; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Commission for the Blind.
