The Life of LESTER D LESLIE
Lester D. Leslie, Sr., 80, of the 300 block of Southeast Philip Street died of a heart ailment Sunday at Mercy Medical Center. The body was cremated,and memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Southtown Funeral Home.
Mr. Leslie had lived in Des Moines all his life. He had been a sheet metal worker and was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion and Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 45. He was a volunteer with Izaak Walton League.
He is survived by his wife, Twila; two daughters, Treena Leslie and Donna Smith, both of Des Moines; four sons, Lester, Jr. of Las Vegas, Michael of Henderson, Nev., Patrick of Des Moines, and Jack Sutton of Boosier City, LA; two brothers, Don James of Altoona, and Phillip Knight of Bloomington, MN; a sister, Darlene Johnson of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
