The Life of ROBERT LEE JOHNSON

Robert Lee Johnson, 53, of 1413 Burlington Terrace died of a heart attack Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.  Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born in Summerville, MO, and lived in Des Moines for 40 years.  He was a layout man for Eagle Iron Works and a member of Machinist union.

Survivors, all of Des Moines, include his wife, Nancy; two sons, Robert and Steve; two daughters, Sandy Hammer and Bobbi Jean Chiles; his mother and stepfather, Goldie and Loren Alexander; two brothers, Clement and Denver; two sisters, Sherin Walker and Wanda Jones; and seven grandchildren.

The family will greet friends after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
