The Life of EMMA IRENE DUNHAM AUSTIN
Emma I Austin, 76, of 3215 Iola Ave. died of a heart attack Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Austin worked for Hillyer Cleaners as a silk and wool presser before retiring. She was born in Quincy, IL, and had lived in Des Moines for 48 years.
Survivors include her husband, William; a son, Joseph Dunham of Rockledge, FL; a daughter, Marie Plawski of Las Vegas; a brother, Don Boden of Quincy, IL; two sisters, Catherine Halley of Quincy, and Mary Hilldebrand of El Cajon, CA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
