The Life of LAWRENCE H VAN DER VEER
Lawrence “Larry” Van Der Veer, 84, died July 2, 2007 at his home in Des Moines. He was the youngest child of Simon and Lotte Van Der Veer of Harvey, IA. He worked for Green Colonial Furnace company for 30 years, and retired from the Des Moines Public Schools in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Velma Van Der Veer and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 N.W. 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Simpson United Methodist Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
