The Life of ETHEL AMELIA ROBERTS

Ethel A. Roberts, 88, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, September 20, at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Ethel Amelia Roberts was born September 12, 1919 in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of Freda and Andrew Swenson. Ethel graduated from Good Samaritan High School and St. Elizabeth Community College in Dayton, OH. She was from Corwith, Iowa and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. Ethel worked as a Lab Technician at VA Hospital and retired in 1982. She was a member of Lee Town Assembly Church and Sunshine Open Bible Church. Ethel was very active in her church and volunteered her time to her family and friends.

Ethel is survived by three daughters: Verlene (Ron) Muhlenburg, Des Moines, Linea Simon, Pleasant Hill and Karen (Howard) Martin, Ogden, UT; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Myrtle York, Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Guy Swenson and Herbert Creek, father of her three children.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lee Town Assembly Church.
