The Life of KENNETH LEROY STAFFORD
Kenneth Stafford, 91, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Bright Kavanagh House.
Kenneth was born on August 13, 1917. He served in the United States Navy during WWII until his honorable discharge in December of 1945.
He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Fireside Squares. He worked for Wright Printing as a paper cutter for many years and retired in 1980. Kenneth enjoyed gardening, camping and square dancing.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Pearl of Pleasant Hill; daughters, Connie (David) Bolton of Pleasant Hill and Sharon (Lyle) Streeter of Whitney, TX; grandson, Ken (Shanda) Bolton; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jerry and Shelby Bolton. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines; burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Fire and Rescue or Hospice of Central Iowa in loving memory of Kenneth.
