The Life of BERTHA ANN ELLIS
Bertha “Bert” A. Ellis, 80, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born April 22, 1930, in Des Moines to LaMont and Mabel (Meline) Gee.
She was an East High School graduate and a Charter Member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Bert is survived by her children, Suzanne (Bill) Sevenbergen, Robert (Pam) Ellis, and Debbie Alloway; grandchildren, Paula (Brian Cunningham) Sevenbergen, Melanie (Troy) Babcock, Billy (Kourtney) Sevenbergen, Robert (Michele) Ellis, Brandey (Jon) Maness, Jason Alloway, Kelly (Mark) Hines, and Jeff (Jessie) Alloway; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Morris, Nancy Evans, and Eleanor Uehling; brothers, Harlan, LaMont, and Larry Gee; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellis; companion, Cecil Polley; sisters, Alice Fisher, Florence Rucker, Lillian Savage, Louise Castle, and Marilyn Remsburg; and a brother, Elmer Gee.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2010, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
