The Life of ALLAN JAMES FAIRLEY

Allen James Fairley, was born in Bussey, Iowa, December 25, 1922.  He graduated from Indianola High School and later took classes at AIB.  Allan worked for the Great Lakes Pipeline and then moved to Cincinnati, OH, where he and best friends went into business.  He lived in  Cincinnati for 22 years, five years in Hot Springs Village, AK, and moved back to Iowa in 1991.  He served in the US Army Ordinance for three and a half years, spending one and a half years in Europe.  Allan was a 50 years Mason, belonging to King David Lodge in Altoona.  He was a woodworker and a pilot and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Allan leaves to mourn his loving wife of 64 years, Doris; one niece, Cheryl Laird Humprhey; and three god children.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Louise Fairley; and his sister, Phyllis Laird.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wesley Community Hospice.
