The Life of VIRGINIA ROSE SHUTT

On June 10, 2011, God came down and wrapped his arms around Virginia and said it is time to come home. At her bedside was her beloved son Charlie.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue.

Virginia was born on April 3, 1921 to Roy and Ora Belle McKeehan, and grew up and lived all of her life in the Des Moines area. On March 7, 1938, Virginia was united in marriage to Don C. Shutt.

Virginia loved life and was always willing to help other people. In her younger days she enjoyed working in the yard and canning fruits and vegetables. Most of all, Virginia loved reading her Bible and was ready to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She leaves behind her loving son, Charlie and very best friend, Kenny Cockerham; along with her three favorite nieces, Judy Nipper, Karen (Pete) DePhillips, and Janice DeBrouse; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don (2006); parents; and her siblings.

We would like to give special thanks to the Administrator, nurses and staff at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny for their loving support and care.
