The Life of ALBERT PETER DI DONATO
Albert P. DiDonato, 80, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines from cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Of Americas-St. Peter Worship Center, 1746 Des Moines St., Des Moines, with burial to follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Albert was born in Dennison, Ohio the son of Pietro and Anna Sabatini. Albert served in the U.S. Navy and later graduated from Stubenville College in Stubenville, OH.
Albert moved to Des Moines to begin his career at Bankers Life (Principal) where he met the love of his life, Jean Wee. They were married in 1956. Albert is survived by his children, Ann DiDonato (Mike Fitzgerald), Brenda DiDonato, Rick (Sharon) DiDonato, Tony (Charo) DiDonato and Peter (Renita) DiDonato; grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah), Brett and Andrea Fitzgerald, Brian and Dacri Bowen and Nick DiDonato, Larae and Gina DiDonato; sister, Alice (Casey) Casimir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean, and his siblings Army, Rose and Edith. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel with a 7 p.m. Vigil Service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dennison, OH.
