The Life of BOUNHIENG VANNAVONG
Bounhieng Vannavong, was born July 5, 1934, in Kenethao, Laos. He died April 5, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. Bounhieng was a farmer, served in the Army, and was a Village Chief in Laos before moving with his family to the United States in 1979.
Bounthieng is survived by his children, Khamphiane, Miane, Liane and Te Vannavong of Laos and Sychanh and Thongvanh Vannavong of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Safinah Ratna Vannavong of Des Moines; several grandchildren in Laos; and grandson, Alec of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bounma Vannavong.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue.
