The Life of RICHARD CLYDE NICHOLSON
Rich Nicholson, 68, of Urbandale, IA passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2010 at Bright Kavanaugh House.
Rich was born September 11, 1941 to Mable and Clyde Nicholson of Des Moines. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959. He took classes at Drake University to pursue a 35 year career in Union Sheet Metal work. He was a member of Local 45 and talented in his trade. He retired from Taylor Industries in 2003.
He is survived by Sandy Nicholson; sons, Brian (Jen) Nicholson, Sam (Kris) Ayres, and Matt Ayres; as well as five grandchildren; his sisters, Carolyn Nicholson and Janice Haugen; his beloved dog, HEMI; as well as many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2010. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12 at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, in Memory of Rich Nicholson, 5452 NE 22 St., Des Moines, IA 50313.
