The Life of JOSEPH R FAZIO

Joseph R. Fazio (Pepe), 88, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008, just one day after his 63rd wedding anniversary. Joseph was born on November 12, 1919 to James and Mary Fazio.

Joseph spent his childhood and early adult life on the South side of Des Moines, graduating from St. Anthony’s Grade School and Lincoln High School. He was a World War II Veteran. Joseph worked for the Ammunition Plant where he met his wife, Mary Nichols. They were married on September 1, 1945. Joseph also worked for H.E. Sorenson Co, G.W Onthanks and as a salesman for The Timmerman Co until his retirement.

Joseph was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing pool at the North side Senior Center until his illness. Joseph was a devoted husband and father and his entire focus in life was on his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; six children, Nancy, Jim, Joe, Mary, Terri (Doug Campbell) and Michelle (David Boos); extended family, Lisa Fazio; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dominic and Sam and sisters, Francis and Dee.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, 50313. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church or Taylor Hospice House in loving memory of Joseph.
