The Life of HELEN MARIE PEARSON
Helen Marie Pearson, 88, died peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Spurgeon Manor Nursing Home. She was born November 5, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa to Helmer and Mary Johnson.
A lifelong East-side resident, she worked in the insurance industry, the state legislature and market research. She married Clemens Pearson on June 11, 1943, celebrating 50 years before his passing.
She is survived by her children, James L. (Linda) Pearson, Carol L. Pearson (Gary Stern) and Kent D. (Lindy) Pearson; her grandchildren, Ingrid Perlongo, Natalie Pearson, Tara (Doug) Davis, Gina (Steve) Beahr, and Lauren (Justin) Ridgeway; her great-grandchildren Cassie Beahr and Corbin Davis.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa or the Animal Rescue League, in loving memory of Helen.
