The Life of BARBARA JEAN PUCKETT
Barbara J. Puckett, 84, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., on Friday, June 5, 2009 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Des Moines, of which she was a member. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Barbara was born August 9, 1924 the daughter of Raymond and Florence Lindenmeyer in Columbia, Missouri. At age 15 she married Richard Puckett and they shared 50 years of marriage. They traveled with the carnival a short time and lived in Los Angeles before residing in Des Moines for 48 years. Barbara was a wonderful, loving, caring, and devoted mother, grandmother and friend; she loved and was so loved by all of her children and family. Barbara also loved her dogs, enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "R.T." Puckett and two grandchildren, Rodney and Chad. Barbara is lovingly survived by her children, Judy Daughenbaugh (Roy), Dennis Puckett (Lola), Carol Goodwin (Keith), Becky Puckett (Dale), Darrell Puckett (Sue) and Kent Puckett (Sarah); 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A family greeting will be held from 5 to 8 pm, Thursday at Iles Funeral Homes -Westover Chapel in Des Moines.
