The Life of VIRGINIA MAE NIXON
Virginia Mae Nixon, 80, passed away February 20, 2011, at her home in Des Moines. She was born August 12, 1930, to Frank and Ida Reyes. She married John Nixon on September 11, 1955.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Julie (Wray) Childers; sons, John (Colleen) and Frank (Yvonne); sisters, Delores Dudley and Diana Reyes; brothers, Fred (Jan) Reyes and Dan (Shirley) Reyes; grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert (Christa), and Emily Childers, Rick Greenley, and Nick, Sean, Sarah, Jack, Catherine and Oliver Nixon; and great-granddaughter, Sophia Greenley. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW Ninth Street, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
