The Life of NORMAN ROBERT SANDIN

Norman Sandin, 85, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Valley View Village in Des Moines.

He was born on August 17, 1924 to John and Edith Sandin in Des Moines.

Norman was an Army veteran from WWII, a Little League coach and served on the Saydel School Board for many years. For 50 years, he owned and operated the Sandin Company.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patty; daughter, Suzanne (Jerry) Kenyon; sons, John Sandin, Rick (Lisa) Sandin; twelve grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Annabelle) Sandin. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Don, Roy and Harold.

Funeral Services will be 12 p.m., Monday, May 17, 2010, at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Evangelical Covenant Church or Valley View Village in loving memory of Norman.
