The Life of DONNA M HOBSON HUNNELL
Donna M. Hunnell, 75, of the 1200 block of Southeast Mallard Creek Drive in Ankeny died of a heart ailment Saturday at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunnell was born in Highland Center and had lived in Hedrick, Des Moines, and Sioux City before returning to the Des Moines area. She had owned a floral shop in Sioux City and was retired from Sears. She was a member of Marquisville United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She had been active with square dancing and camping clubs and had been a 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening, housekeeping and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Halford; a daughter, Jane Hagman of Culver, OR; a son, John of Des Moines; three sisters, Ruth Pearson of Mitchellville and Helen Schlenker and Maxine Schmidt, both of Ankeny; a brother, Earl Mefford of Hedrick; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
