The Life of JACK LONGENECKER

Jack Longenecker, 79, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2007 in Peoria, Arizona.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.  Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jack was born August 10, 1927 in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, and was a retired mechanic for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.  Jack lived most of his life in Des Moines until moving from the area in 1986.  He lived in Peoria, Arizona for the last 15 years.  Jack was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Peoria.

Jack is survived by his step-daughters, Nancy Tague of Des Moines and Tina Moon of Bondurant; step-son, Dennis Hochmuth of Mitchellville; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Sally, and brothers, Sam, Bill and Warren.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian P. Longenecker; 2 step-sons, Bobby and Terry Hochmuth and 4 brothers, Wally, Dave, Bob and Junior.
