The Life of CHARLES HUNTBACH Jr.

Charles Huntbach, Jr. passed away on Monday, May 11th at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be held 11:30 am, Friday, May 15, at Westminster Presbyterian Church Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Chuck was born August 12, 1922, in Hampton, Iowa the son of Charles and Edna Huntbach. He moved to Des Moines as a small child and lived there the remainder of his life. Chuck served in the US Army. He was a postal worker for 35 years until his retirement in 1980. Chuck was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Acanthus Masonic Lodge, International and Iowa Edsel Clubs, and the American Legion Post #659. Chuck's pride and joy were his two granddaughters and he enjoyed their activities. He was proud of his Edsel car and enjoyed the club activities. Chuck is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 67 years; sons, Randy of Des Moines and Charles (Ruth) of Florissant, MO; daughter, Denise (Charlie) Townsend of Windsor Heights and his granddaughters, Amy Huntbach of St. Louis, MO and Courtney Townsend of Windsor Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Kellner. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church Chapel.
