The Life of LAURA LAREEN JOHNSON

Laura Johnson, 84, passed peacefully on July 12, 2009. Laura was born January 25, 1925 in Watford City, ND, to Della Bond and Jessford Johnson. She worked at several bakeries and retired from Florist Supply Co. Laura was very fond of plants and animals and was well known for bringing plants, seemingly dead, back to life. In her life span, she chose two special people; one was Y. R. "Bud" Dunshee as her life-mate which lasted for forty-five years and the other is Mark (Lois) Billings, as her son. There have been many precious pets in Laura's life, currently, cats, Maddy Mae and Chloe will miss her dearly. Laura's final gathering will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at Staves Memorial United Methodist Church located at East 28th and Madison. Immediately following services, a luncheon will be prepared by the United Methodist Women. Inurnment will follow the luncheon at Highland Memory Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Staves Church. Special thanks to the staff at Bright Kavanagh, Hospice of Central Iowa, Dr. Leatrice Olson and all her friends that cared and visited Laura. Those who knew Laura, loved her!
