The Life of NOLAN LEROY LILLY

Nolan Leroy Lilly, 94, was born July 10, 1916 in Laredo, Missouri, the son of Roy and Mabel (Crossen) Lilly. He died Friday, July 30, 2010 at Taylor House. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Nolan was a Printer Pressman all of his working years. After retiring in 1979, he enjoyed umpiring baseball and softball games, and was a city umpire for over 10 years. Nolan was an avid hunter, fisherman and raised hunting dogs. Hunting was a favorite sport of his throughout his entire life. In his 80’s, he deer hunted with his grandson and bagged his first deer. Nolan also had a great love for golf. He played many rounds with his family and friends. Nolan is survived by his son, Ronald N. Lilly and wife, Janet; four grandchildren, Tom, Ron Jr., Rhonda and Stacie; six great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Lilly and sister, Juanita Sylvester. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn in 2006; son, Tom; one great-grandchild; one brother and his parents. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor House in loving memory of Nolan.
