The Life of MARJORIE HARRIET HELMING
. Helming, 90, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Marjorie was born, October 4, 1918, in Mt. Auburn, IL, the daughter of John and Mary (Phillips) Boltz. She lived most of her life in Des Moines and was a graduate of East High School (Class of 1936). Marjorie married John W. Helming on October 15, 1938. She was a homemaker and had worked at Rawlins Hosiery Mill.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and daughter, Barbara Andrus. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Helming and Debbie (Ken) Haas both of Des Moines; and her son, Ronald Helming of Chantilly, VA; five grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 20, at Westover Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given in Marjorie's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 1730 - 28th Street, West Des Moines, Iowa 50266.
