I remember several birthdays when my grandmother (Nell) would take me out to dinner and to pick out something. One year I went home with a new dress and raincoat. She also bought the same identical items for my sister. Grandma had a great laugh in spite of tough times. She was also pretty funny--you never knew what she was going to do or say.
