The Life of VERNON LEE HANSEN

Vernon Lee Hansen, 58, of the 1200 block of Southwest Frazier Avenue died of a heart attack Monday at home.  Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Hansen had lived in Des Moines all his life.  He was a truck driver with Waste Management and a member of Teamsters Union Local 90.  He was an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; two sons, Stephen Hansen of Des Moines and Jason Day of Boulder, CO; two daughters, Kristie Christensen and Sherry McGill, and his mother, Roberta Neitzel, all of Des Moines; his father, Walter Hansen of Minnesota; a brother, Raymond of Des Moines; three sisters, Kathryn Pullman of Des Moines, Linda Herwehe of Oakley, CA; and Marilyn Foddrill of Tennessee; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at Southtown Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Society of Iowa.
