The Life of JEFFREY J DOWD
Jeffrey J. "Jack" Dowd, 35, of 1635 47th St. died of a heart attack Friday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Dowd was born in Des Moines and lived in Boone before returning to Des Moines 26 years ago. He was the owner of Stormy''s Tavern.
Survivors include his wife, Nickie Hatz-Dowd; a son, Robert at home; his stepmother, Barbara Dowd of Des Moines, two sisters, Kimberly Baker of Annapolis, MD, and Dawn Bowles of Panora; two stepsisters, Pam Norelius of Johnston and Jackie Bryant of Des Moines; and two stepbrothers, Brett Lockard and Fort Collins, CO, and John Lockard of Des Moines.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 3 to 6 p.m., and where a vigil service will be held at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Jackson Dowd Trust Fund at Midwest Grocers Credit Union.
