The Life of JACK R THOREN
Jack R. Thoren, 64, of 3927 E 25th St. died of a heart ailment Friday at Madrid Home for the Aging in Madrid. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Park Christian Church. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Thoren was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He was a retired Des Moines firefighter, a member of Union Park Lodge A.F. and A.M., American Legion Post 374, Highland Park Christian Church and Retired Fireman''s Association. He was a former Norden Singer, a lobbyist and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; three sons, Charles R. of Des Moines, Tom R. of Washington, D.C., and Kevin J. of Des Moines; his mother and stepfather, Ann Thoren Van Buren and Bernie Van Buren of Des Moines; a sister, Phyllis Christensen of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home.
