The Life of CAROLYN ROSE CARSON
Carolyn Rose Carson, 65, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004 of breast cancer at Kavanagh House. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 9 at Hamilton''s Funeral Home on Lyon Street.
Carolyn was born February 28, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa, lived most of her life in Des Moines and wintered in Texas. She retired from the Group Claims Department at Principal Finaical and enjoyed dancing, needle work, RV traveling and Blue Grass Festivals. Carolyn was a member of Escapees RV Club, Central Iowa Polka Club and Low''s (Loaners of Wheels). She also attended Lutheran Church of Hope and was a past member of Parents Without Partners.
She is survived by her daughers, Rachel (Dean) Merrell of Norwalk and Ruth (Butch) Sparks of Des Moines; companion, John Martin of Ogden; brother, Charles (Pat) McDaniel of Jacksboro, TN; sisters, Marilyn (Melvin) Russell of Des Moines and Ginni (Mike) Adams of Bondurant; granddaughter, Erica Merrell (Fiance Ryan Murphy) of Des Moines; and grandsons, Daniel Merrell of Norwalk and Adam Sparks of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Verne Carson and her parents.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Iowa.
