The Life of IRMA DAY
Irma Day, 76, of Calvin Manor, 4210 Hickman Rd., died of complications of emphysema Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, and burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Day was born in Oregon and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a retired food services manager for Drake University and a member of First Federated Church.
Survivors include a son, Richard "Mike" of Des Moines; a daughter, Connie Berry of West Des Moines; a brother, LaVern Short of Neport, OR; two sisters, Orpha Thompson of Dexter and Beulah Ehlers of Mangiula, CA; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
