The Life of RUSSELL L CARLSTON
Russell L. Carlston, 75, of 4812 Seneca Ave. died following open heart surgery Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Westover Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Carlston, a lifelong Des Moines resident, was a retired technician with Northwestern Bell, was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Windsor Presbyterian Church, the Telephone Pioneers of America, Telco Credit Union Board and the Westgate Adelphic Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; a son, Brent of Des Moines; a sister, Arlene Carlston of Des Moines; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
