The Life of LEONARD A LIND
Leonard A. "Cotton" Lind, 65, of 805 Grandview Ave. died of a heart ailment Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be graveside at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Lind, a lifelong Des Moines resident, retired in 1989 as plant superintendent at Horner-Waldorf Corp. and was an Army Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Debbie Gudehus and Marsha Lind, both of Des Moines; two stepsons, Lon Spurgin of Fort Madison and David Spurgin of Estherville; two sisters, Jenny Lind of Des Moines and Bernice Shawhan of Ankeny; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Link Associates, a division of ARC of Polk County.
