The Life of BEULAH MAY PORTER VUAGNIAUX

Beulah (Bea) Vuagniaux passed away on April 28, 1995.  Funeral services were held at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens.  Beulah was born in Hartford, Iowa, to Jared and Claudia (Fairly) Porter on July 16, 1915.  She was the third of their eleven children.  Bea graduated from Beech High School in 1932 and went on to Four C's business school in Des Moines.  She worked as a bookkeeper at Kurtz Hardware in downtown Des Moines.  Later in life, she worked as a secretary at the Polk County Farm Bureau Extension Office.  Her primary career was as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.  She excelled at all she did.  She could make gravy "like non-other!"

Beulah met Darrell Vuagniaux at the United Brothren Church on East 13th and Hull Avenue in Des Moines.  They were married April 22, 1938.  Their daughter Sheryl was born in 1946, and their son Tim was born in 1948.  Bea was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She had a deep spiritual way about her and was kind to everyone.

Darrell passed away in 1989.  They were married 51 years.  Beulah is survivied by her son Tim (Sherry) Vuagniaux; daughter Sheryl (Neal) Feuerhelm; grandchildren Corey and Anne Vuagniaux and Brett and Trevor Feuerhelm; brothers Don and Dale Porter; sisters Marjorie Smith, Olive Myrick, Marie Bunce, Ellen Edwards, Darlene Epps, and Dorthea North.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Melvin and Robert Porter.
