The Life of ARNOLD E CARLSON

Arnold E. Carlson, 81, of Valley View Village, 2571 Guthrie Ave., died of a heart attack Friday at the center.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, of which he was a member.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Carlson, a lifelong Des Moines resident, was a retired supervisor with Iowa Power and Light Co., and an accompanist from several singing groups.

He is survived by a daughter, Trudy Carlson of Stephenville, TX; a son, David; a sister Eva Thorsheim; and a brother, Reinhold, all of Des Moines, and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
